Welcome to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of KUET. There are four departments namely, Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME), Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM), Department of Energy Technology (ET) and Department of Leather Engineering (LE) under this family.

Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME), the oldest department opened at the beginning in 1974 and started with class size of 40 students. Now, it’s class size is 120 students. Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM), started for PG students in 2002 also started admitting 30 UG students from 2006. Now from 2006 the number of UG students per class has been increased to 60. Department of Energy Technology (ET) which can award Post Graduate degree and Department of Leather Engineering (LE) for undergraduate students, are two new departments. From the academic year 2010-2011, 60 students will take admission in this department.

The expert teachers of this faculty teach the students and prepare them for the modern and up date technology of the world. Seminars, conferences and workshops are arranged frequently to increase the expertise of the teachers, students, researchers of this region and the obtained knowledge is being implemented in the region to reduce the poverty of the people.
